About Byron Syring DELTA Center
The DELTA Center alternative education campus serves as the Monte Vista School District's alternative high school. The DELTA Center offers a full range of secondary core & elective courses for high risk students (as defined by the Colorado Department of Education). To qualify as a candidate to attend the DELTA Center, students must fall into one or more of the following categories:
To enroll at the DELTA Center:
The DELTA Center's primary function is existential (not just academic), and it is to serve the needs of high risk students to help them gain the skills and knowledge necessary for success beyond secondary school.
In addition to the daytime AEC program, the Byron Syring DELTA Center also offers an evening adult education program (offering Rio Grande County adult residents access to classes to support acquiring an adult diploma or passing the GED).
- Enroll with Monte Vista High School.
- Be referred to the DELTA Center by the MVHS principal & counselor.
- Be accepted by the DELTA Center director (after completing an application, going through an entrance interview with the principal.
