Adult Education Program
The Byron Syring DELTA Center is pleased to offer an adult education program. The DELTA Center is one of only two GED testing centers in the San Luis Valley, and offers the only program in the SLV where adult students can earn a high school diploma. The DELTA Center has a long history (since 1973) of helping adults successfully reach their educational goals.
Adults age 17 to 110 who are residents of the San Luis Valley (including Creede and South Fork) who would like to complete a high school diploma or take the GED exams are eligible for the DELTA Center's FREE adult education program.
To enroll in the DELTA Center's adult education program, please stop-by in-person & speak with one of our adult education advisers. Optimum times to register are during the class sessions Mondays or Wednesdays between 4:30pm and 7:00pm, but if you drop by the DELTA Center office during the regular school day wishing to register we will usually be able to accommodate you.

FAQs
1) Should I pursue the GED or Diploma? Upon enrollment, a teacher will meet with you about your educational goals. We will request prior transcripts on your behalf (we honor previously earned credits), and compare the GED and Diploma options with you. You can then decide which option would best fit your needs.
2) What does class time look like? We are here to support you. Every student is on an individualized plan. There are no large group lectures. Each student is working on what they need to accomplish while the teachers are there to provide support as needed.
3) My work schedule might not allow me to always be there from 4:30 - 7:30. Can I still participate? Yes. We are here from 4:30pm to 7:30pm Mondays and Wednesdays to support adult students (but arrive by 7:00pm at the latest). Some students are here the whole time, some come in after they get off work and arrive around 5:30pm. Some arrive at 4:30pm but need to leave by 6:00pm. The more time you put into your work, the faster you will meet your goals, but we understand the need for flexible attendance.
4) It's been a long time since I've been in school. I'm worried I won't remember much. That's OK. We'll figure out where you are at, what you are ready for next, and how to help you get there!
5) Can I work outside of class hours? Absolutely! We encourage this. We offer both digital and paper based curriculum that you can work with outside of regular program hours.
6) Do you provide daycare? Unfortunately, we are not able to offer daycare during the adult education program hours.
7) Is there a graduation ceremony? Yes! Adult students who complete their GED or earn their diploma are invited to participate in our graduation ceremony each May.
